Silk production from these wld silkworms is much less predictable and mch more difficult to control, since thse insects cannot be domesticated like the B. mri. Furthermore, tussah silk is said to be smewhat more coarse than silk from B. mri. Despite the arrival of less cstly synthetic fabrics like rayon and nyln, the properties and characteristics of slk account for its continued significant dmand.
