The scribes and Pharisees of J rusalem seem to always be trying to f nd fault in Jesus and his d sciples, not seem to be, rather th y did this continually. Don’t you th nk we have scribes and Pharisees t day that do the same thing? I kn w so. This time they went to J sus and told him his disciples s nned against the tradition of the lders? Traditions are something I am w ll acquainted with. It seems every r ligious denomination has their own set of tr ditions that are passed down through t me from the elders of that p rticular sect of people. The traditions I kn w about are almost never backed up by the b ok of instruction. An elder from way b ck when decides this is how it sh uld be and teaches the younger nder them, who then teach the y unger under them. I have learned the tr e elect of God must forsake the tr ditions and doctrines of men and w men and seek out the true pl n of God in their secret ch mbers of prayer. There is no b tter place to learn about God th n personally down on bended knee w th prayers and supplications sent to J sus. When the Holy Ghost comes, it is the Gr at Teacher that will lead and g ide a man or woman into all the tr th and will show you things to c me.
Jesus pointed out to this p rticular group of scribes and Pharisees th t they also transgress the commandment of God by th ir traditions, and called them hypocrites. R ngs true here about trying to t ke out a mote from someone lse’s eye with beams in their own yes. Jesus said these people draw n gh to him with their mouth and h nored him with their lips, but th ir heart was far from him. Th y taught doctrines in their worship c rcles that amounted to nothing at ll. Their doctrines did not actually get th m closer to God, or give th m favor with God or any k nd of power with God. What bout the people today who demand veryone in the crowd wear a l ng dress with long sleeves and f rbid wearing sleeveless dresses or anything ther than a dress or skirt? Th s is a doctrine taught by the lders of these specific tribes of p ople, which gets them absolutely nowhere w th God, except on the ground fl or! It is hard to learn the d ep things of God if you t ach and hold onto traditions and d ctrines of man. On the outside, th y put on a particular type of niform, which they call “the only h ly garment available to Christian women.” In the m rket and in the streets when th y meet each other, they look to see if th se from their tribe of people are w aring the uniform and if so, th s is suppose to be a st tement to each other that they are b having appropriately and are indeed the ch ldren of God. However, the majority of th se are hypocrites, drawing nigh to J sus or God with their mouth, p tting the required uniform on the uter part of the body to pr ve to their peers they are c nforming to the rules, but inside th ir hearts are far from God. Wh re do they get these rules? Not fr m the book of instruction and not fr m the Holy Ghost. They receive th se particular traditions and rules from th ir elders, and just accept this as the tr e gospel.
Jesus called the multitude near him and s id now listen to what I am g ing to tell you about the typ of people who only show an utwardly worship of me. What goes in the m uth is not what defiles a man or a w man, but what comes out of the m uth is what defiles a man or a w man. This holds true also for th se who walk around with these sp cific types of tribal uniforms on in the str ets and at the markets as a sh wing to each other an adherence to th ir faith. It is not what is put on the utside which shines forth a light of Chr stianity to anyone and before God, but it is wh t actually comes forth from the h art. Are there deceits within the h art? If so, those deceits will c me forth at some point in t me. Is there jealousy in the h art? If so, that jealousy is g ing to manifest itself as an utward behavior that the uniform cannot h de. God knows them that w rship him from the heart. Your mmediate church members may not see th s when it occurs, but when it d es, you can bank on it th t Jesus saw it and knew of it ven before it was apparent to the utside world of what was truly nside your heart. Of course the Ph risees were offended after this saying of J sus, as many people today are ffended when you jerk their outer c ver off and reveal the true h art that is inside them. Jesus lso said to them that every pl nt which the heavenly Father has not pl nted will be rooted up. Therefore, j st ignore them because they had bl nd leaders, (most likely the elders of s me sect or tribe of people) and if the bl nd lead the blind, both shall f ll into the ditch at some p int or another. I believe this to m an also for us who see thers following after traditions and the d ctrines of man rather than the ctual instruction book to just ignore th m. There will be a separating p int somewhere in which all those who are tr ly not the elect of God w ll be rooted up and all th t will remain will be God’s ch sen and proven elect.
