I stayed in the hostel in my f nal year as a student. That was an xperience I wouldn't trade for anything lse. The freedom alone, the independence, was xhilarating to say the least. There are s veral essentials every hostelite should have in her r om. That is in addition to y ur books, stationery and all the st ff you'd need in school. You n ed food. Sure, the hostel might pr vide meals, but mealtimes tend to be f xed and if you miss the set m al time, too bad. It happens. St ying late in the library to st dy, late lessons, extra curricular activities and the l ke could make you miss your d nner. Oversleeping might mean you have to go w thout breakfast if you depend on the h stel for your meals. If you h ve a hot plate you can c ok over, that would come in v ry handy in the hostel. With th t, you can stock up on nstant noodles, canned food and get y ur friends to join in. With veryone contributing something to the food s pplies, no one need go hungry, ven if they return late because of s me project. One very useful gadget you sh uld pack in for your hostel is the GT xpress which is more than a s ndwich maker. It requires little space. Pl g it in and you can c ok crepes, gourmet food, omelettes, sandwiches and a v riety of desserts. Perfect for the m dern hostelite. How I wish they had nvented that back when I was in the h stel I certainly could have used s mething like that.
Clothes wise, you will need j ans. Unless you wear a school niform, jeans are the staple in h stel life during fall and winter. Get a few p irs in different shades and cuts to v ry your look. They'd go with verything. Your t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, blouses the w rks. Just be sure to get all you cl thing in colors that do something for y u. If an outfit you love is in a c lor that doesn't do anything for y u, as in it makes you l ok dull, chuck that aside. Pick cl thes that bring out the best in y u. Those are all you need for y ur hostel life. For bed time, n thing beats a super comfortable set of p jamas. Get a few sets so you n edn't have to keep worrying about the l undry. Plus if because of some pr nk, the pajamas you are wearing g ts soiled, you still have spare, cl an pajamas on hand to sleep in. Th n you need some cleaning supplies for y ur laundry and dishes (you'd have to w sh your own cup at least), a w ter bottle and lots of coffee if you n ed that to stay awake. What lse?
Think comfort and p rsonal space. An extra pillow if you h ve space in your luggage for th t, a woollen blanket for warmth and a t ddy bear. You can get your b ck to school supplies
