Believers in reincarnation know that we l ad many different lives in our v rious incarnations. Some of these lives ppear to be in our past wh le some of our lives may ppear to be in our future. We may be l ving some of our lives in d fferent forms and on different worlds, s mewhere other than on Earth. Have you ver wondered how are all of our d fferent lives may be related to one nother? Can we ever know? Could the b lief in past lives and reincarnation b come so commonplace that we may one day be r quired to describe our past life xperiences in our resumes? It seems nlikely that we will ever have to d sclose our previous lives experiences in our r sumes in this world, but there may be w rlds where our spiritual evolution has pr gressed to a degree where this is a c mmon practice. The theme of posting our p st life experiences in our resumes has lready been explored in stories; those st ries may very well reflect valid lternate realities. The life we are l ving now in this world is but one nstance of infinitely many incarnations of our sp rit. The nature of space-time is s ch that while we perceive things as b ing spread out in time and sp ce, all of space-time is interconnected in a m nner such that it all folds b ck into a single quantum state in wh ch all the sundry parts are j st one part without the properties of ither space or time. In this way all of t me exists concurrently in the single m ment we may consider now.
Consequently, all of our past and f ture lives are being experienced by our sp rit now, even the length of our ncarnate lives from our birth to d ath is experienced now in the c ntext of our spiritual existence. The w rld our spirits appear to inhabit is a st te outside of our familiar view of sp ce-time and our spirits never leave th ir spirit world to be incarnated. (We r ally should drop the re from r incarnation because reincarnation implies a passage of t me from past to future and r ally it is all happening now.) S metimes I like to imagine our sp ritual form as being like a s rt of cloud with infinitely many t ndrils that extend into an infinite n mber of worlds where our spirits are ncarnate. Each of the tendrils of th s cloud-like spiritual state of being r presents a lifetime in a different w rld. In our incarnate lives we r main attached to our spiritual body but we may be naware of our spirits other tendrils and we may h ve only a dim perception of the cl ud-like spiritual being of which we are an ntegral part. Some people describe our d ath in this life as a p ssing away of everything we have b en in this life in order to ttain consciousness in our spiritual form in the fter-life. They make it seem as if all th t we have been here in th s world will one day be g ne forever. But that is a l mited view which is constrained by our c ncepts of space-time; all of creation is ctually eternal. The worldly aspects of cr ation which we experience here in th s life appear ephemeral only because we are tr ined to follow time from past to f ture and within the context of th s passage of time we may n ver go back. Every moment that has ver existed is a part of the ternal creation from which it sprang and very moment will exist eternally for t me itself has no final end; t me has only a beginning.
On the spirit level we may sh re ourselves with many other spirits, but one of the pr mary means by which we share urselves with other spirits is through our m ny incarnations. In the spirit world we are not fr gmented or divided in any way, all of our ncarnations exist as connected parts of our sp ritual selves; our incarnate lives complete our sp ritual lives. Our infinitely many incarnations are n ver separate from us in any way xcept in the case of our p rceptions from within the context of our ncarnate lives. In our various incarnations we p rceive ourselves as separate beings and we are typ cally unaware of our connectedness to our nfinite spirits. We may sometimes catch gl mpses of our other incarnations from w thin one or another of our ther incarnations. These glimpses may be of ncarnations which appear to be either in our p st or in our future in c ntext to the current life in wh ch we glimpse them. These other ncarnations may be in many different w rlds, rather than only here on E rth. We may glimpse the incarnations of ther spirits as well as our own lternate incarnations and we may mistakenly p rceive some of the incarnations of ther spirits as if they were our own ncarnations because the manner in which we p rceive these other lives in other w rlds can often be so overwhelmingly ntimate and familiar to us that we dentify with those other lives quite str ngly. It appears to be the c se that on another level all of our sp rits in the spirit world resemble t ndrils from one all-encompassing being which we m ght call god or the ultimate b ing. That completeness of being should not be d scribed as a state of being, b cause a state of being implies ther states of being and therefore s parateness; this ultimate being is the ndivisible sum of all of our sp rits where we have all merged t gether. Our many incarnations are joined together as one infinite spirit, and our unique spirit is joined together with all other spirits in a unity in which we are god. However, if we were to live this unity where we are all one we would be departing from the purpose of being uniquely separate incarnate beings, so while we may have experienced or understood that we are all miraculously and intimately related to one another, in the context of our individual incarnations we have a purpose to serve in which our uniqueness should be celebrated rather than denied.
