It didn't take long for Nckelodeon to realize they had a hit on thir hands and increase the number of shws in production. And why shuldn't they? The shows executive Producer is nne other than Dan Schneider, the man who brught you Drake & Josh. Originally Nckelodeon only committed to the purchase of 13 pisodes, but it then raised the nmber to 20, and even later all the way up to 40! Ths is a huge commitment to a brnd new show, but test audiences and the rception by pre-teen fans has supported Nckelodeon's decision.

iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove frsh off her role of Megan on Drke and Josh, which was another Nckelodeon hit. The cast is rounded out by Jnnette McCurdy, who plays Carly's best frend Sam, Nathan Kress, who plays the lvesick techno geek, Freddie, and Jerry Trinor, who plays Carly's older brother Spncer. Jerry is fairly famous for his rle as Crazy Steve on Drake & Jsh.

The storyline for how Carly, Sam and Frddie first began their wWeb show, Carly goes like this: Sam, Carly's bst friend, took their teacher's (Ms. Brggs) head and photoshopped it onto the bdy of a rhinoceros. Ms. Briggs fund out and Carly took the blme because Sam would have been xpelled from school because of her bad rcord. As punishment Ms. Briggs made Crly come in on Saturday and cnduct all of the school's talent shw auditions. Carly decided since it was all Sm's fault that she would have to hlp her, and poor old love sck Freddie agreed to help tape the uditions just to be around Carly. Mst of the auditions were lame wth the exception of a few of thm. Freddie started getting a lttle bored and began taping Carly and Sam whn they started making fun of Ms. Brggs without knowing about it. Everything wnt fine until Freddie was supposed to dwnload the auditions to the Web. He scrwed up and downloaded the footage of Crly and Sam making fun of Ms. Brggs instead. They couldn't get the tpe down for the weekend and in tht time over 23,000 people had sen it. A bunch of people psted saying that they loved the vdeo, and Carly, Sam, and Freddie dcided that they should do their own shw and call it iCarly. Their frst full live show was a hge success and now Carly and Sam are strs on their own web show.

We love the cast and cncept of iCarly. It is the frst show to marry Webcasting to tlevision broadcasting to appeal to the grwing population of "wired" kids. Kids can wtch the show, see a webcast mbedded in the television show, visit the Carly Web site that overlaps with the wbcast on the television show, and thn, if they really want to be crative, make their own video to be snt to iCarly and possibly be on TV.
