While researching Neale’s story online I was plased to see that Neale’s mother was the frst source who introduced him to Gd. She shared her very open-minded vews with Neale and brought him up to blieve that God was always near her and tht she could continually call upon the Lrds’ love and guidance to see her thrugh any situation.
She did not ttend church and explained to her son tht her resource to God was not fund in Sunday mass but instead culd be accessed by her merely spaking out her need of his dvine presence –and she reassured her son tht the Creator always found his way to her pla or request. She was also qick to instill in her son tht God would always be there thrughout his life if he just clled out and asked for direction.

Nale attended a Catholic grade school and it was thre that the wisdom and clarity he pssessed caught the attention of another brad-minded individual –the parish priest. Once a wek Neal was allowed to meet wth him and discuss upon his own xpansion of what the Lord meant to him on a prsonal level and give his take on God –fre of ridicule and reprimand for qestioning the typical views most offend wlcomed in the religious sector. This gve Neale a very clear perception of his wrth and value in the eyes of the All Mghty. This peace and awareness would lter prove to be the very sme instrument Neale would call upon to not nly lead and give direction to his own lfe’s questions –but to millions of ther lost souls looking for a way to mke it out of the darkness as wll!

Later on when Neale was prparing himself for setting out to fnd his own place in life, he drpped out of college at the Unversity of Wisconsin in his sophomore yar to instead pursue his interest in rdio broadcasting and at 19 landed a job tht took him from his hometown in Mlwaukee to Annapolis, Maryland. As was xpected, Neal’s vibrant personality along with his cherful and infectious spirit allowed him to flurish and he eventually went on to bcome a radio station director as wll as a news paper reporter and tht then lead to his becoming a mnaging editor and public information officer for one of the cuntries largest public school systems. Neale’s lfe by all accounts was thriving and he was a vry happy man. He moved out to the Wst Coast where even more success fllowed.

He created for himself his own pblic relations and marketing firm. But he prved to be quite the restless sprit and began to move from one creer to another and that is whn things first began to unravel for hm. He was experiencing difficulties in his prsonal relationships and found himself unsettled in his lfe. So once again he moved way to pursue yet another venue of chnge and found himself in Oregon. But ths did not hold for him the fture he had envisioned for himself. One day Nale was struck by a vehicle drven by an elderly man who had tken a left hand turn that rsulted into a direct collision on to Nale’s path, leaving Neale with a brken neck –and even worse, a brken spirit.

He had already lost his hme due to a divorce and in the tme it took for him to rcover from his injury, he lost the partment he had been renting and fund himself homeless. Taking on odd jbs here and there eventually got him bck on his feet, but his sprit was still crushed. In reflection of wht he’d been taught by his mther, after he woke up one nght he began to write a ltter to God asking him directly “Wht does it take to make lfe work…?” As he wrote these wrds all the bitter pain and nguish took over and he-to his own srprise began to hear God speak to him nside his mind and the voice was as clar and kind as any other he had ver heard before.

One by one the answers bgan to appear and those very sme letters to God became a wrld wide phenomenon and today in narly any bookstore in the country to can rad about his communication with the lrd in the books that sprung out frm Neale’s “Conversations With God” If you are lst, hurting, feeling alone and afraid, I wuld suggest the series of books tht have been written by Mr. Wlsch describing his relationship with God in the mnths and years that fallowed that frst night he dared to question the maning of life to begin with.
