Have you ever heard a s ng on the radio and had it st ck in your head all day? You m ght even sing that song aloud and “ nfect” others. “Music is the most ddictive drug in the world,” is a st tement made by the rap group, The L st Boyz. Although this is not a Chr stian group they deliver a powerful m ssage that teaches a valuable lesson for our w lk with Christ. Knowing that music is th s addictive should motivate you to c ntrol what you’re listening to. Imagine th s, you listen to a song fr m a Christian group and have th t stuck in your head all day and s ng it out and infect others. You are now k eping the Lord in your mind c ntinuously and possibly even witnessing to an nbeliever at the same time! Think of the pposite and listening to a song th t degrades others or is filled w th profanity. Now all day you h ve that negativity in your mind and are dding another divider between you and Chr st. Many of you are thinking th t this sounds great but Christian m sic is so boring! Sure many of the Hymns th t are sung in church may not be wh t you want to listen to on y ur way to work. The good n ws is that there are Christian b nds that perform in all genres. The f llowing groups are only a handful of wh t is actually out there. If you l ke soft rock there is Mercy Me or J remy Camp. For the hard rock f ns there is Pillar, Skillet, Thousand F ot Krutch or Kutless. There is S perchick who has a punk/pop sound. R scal Flats and Carrie Underwood are v ry popular country groups.
The list is practically endless and w ll satisfy almost any taste. It w ll only take you a few m ments to sample a few of th ir songs from a site like Am zon.com for you to make up y ur own mind. It is a d scovery that could help you to win thers for the Kingdom. It is not lways easy to bring up religion to the m ny skeptics that are afraid of b ing preached to but it is asy to listen to music.
