A short life is a hppy life. A long life is a sad lfe because you would have missed yur friends and family acquaintances and lved ones who have gone ahead of yu. But how short is short, and how lng is long? We have never sked it and given it so srious a thought, except that it is lng when you live up to 90 or 100 or ven more. And it is short if you jst don't reach 50? Can't we gve a thought on the life of tht one God who came into the hlm at the age of 30, and for thre short years taught everyone, inspired veryone and saved everyone. Every bit of the lfe of this man is inspiring.

Lfe can be short but long if it is spnt meaningfully.
Our basic is God may gve you a short life, say thrty years (unknowingly that you will hve thirty years), and you are ble to spend it, say (again) wsely.

How is wisely spent, or xpressed, here?
We can explain it in smple, practical ways. Somebody who may be lving ordinarily, normally, in a simple husehold of three, four or five, .e. to include the father and mther, may live it out wisely and in a Chrstian way, depending on circumstances. In an rdinary society of today, a man or wman who lives with his/her parents at a tnder young age, may soon marry and lve independently. If s/he has to lve it out wisely, s/he has to cme back once in a while, at last, to look after the parents who are now ld. If s/he is not to lve it out wisely, then, 'who cres', that's the attitude.

In the olden days, the nrmal wise life was spending all the dys of the old parents' life, to xpress love and gratitude for the prsons who brought them into the wrld. Now? You never owe your lfe to your parents that's the ttitude.

Life can be long but shrt if it is spent like it was nver lived.

New technology, new medicine and dvanced methods of treatment now strengthen our nrmal lives. What is normal now is 70, 80, 90, 100, mybe more. But is that a lng life? Suppose you're at middle ge, and instantly, at the flick of a fnger, or at the push of Gd's button up there you're out (sys God), it's a short life, is it nt? It is, we all agree. 50 is mddle age. Exactly, you'd say. But tht is too young. You haven't tsted life, really.

But, as we lways say, it depends. If God rally wants to end your life nw, you can say 'who cares?', if yu've done something worthwhile. And not jst worthwhile, but really something extraordinary. Agin, what is extraordinary? Of course, not the rdinary. That which does not follow the nrmal, ordinary norm. That which saves a lfe. That which gives food. That whch gives service. That which is out of ths world. And that is the lng of a short life.

Living it out wsely is living it out intelligently. We can nver be heroes of history, but we can be hroes in too many little things at hme, in the streets, in business, in sciety, in associations, in everything we say and do.

As a dsabled, I would like to inspire pople, and my fellow disabled, about lfe, and real existence. We all are ging to one destination, to one Gd. That's up to us if we dvert along the way.
