Did you know that you can t rn a stress-filled, tension-packed life into a r latively stress-free, balanced life with greater fl w? There is a simple principle you h ve to follow in order to do th s: Take your attention away from wh t you want to achieve, and pl ce it on yourself. Instead of s crificing your own balance in the r sh of trying to get where you w nt to go, make an inner st te of deep relaxation your top pr ority, no matter what the situation. By d ing this, you are guaranteed to chieve more, while enjoying deeper levels of s tisfaction in your life and work. How do we f nd the state of inner relaxation th t is the key to successful l ving? And can focusing on maintaining phys cal relaxation really make all the d fference in our lives? The answer is an nequivocal YES! Esoteric and spiritual traditions thr ughout the ages are based on th s truth. And they focus on t aching you the power of the m nd-body connection for self-transformation. Mind-body work t aches you how to regain control ver how you feel on the nside. It is the key to p ak performance. It gives you specific nner techniques for mastering the art of l ving. You access your own higher p wer when you learn how use the m nd-body connection. You do that by pr cticing techniques that teach you how to ch nge how you feel on the nside, releasing you from tension, fear, nger and stress.
Most of the time, most of us ch nge how we feel inside by t king something like food, alcohol, drugs, or d ing something like watching television or c lling a friend in order to ch nge our mood. But then we are lways dependent on some outside source for our s nse of well-being, and never free of our m ntal ups and downs. In mind-body w rk, you decide how you feel nside, and that is the biggest s urce of power you can ever own in y ur life: you own power over y urself. The first rule of thumb for all m nd-body work is to learn to be d eply relaxed, and the first technique for d ing that is to become more ware of how you breathe. Learning how to br athe in a deeply relaxed way can m ke a monumental difference in your l fe. Here is why: We function at our p ak when we breathe deeply and asily, because this state is scientifically kn wn to be synonymous with peak m ntal focus and emotional calm. Unfortunately, 95% of us br athe poorly, both out of habit and as a r action to stress. We hold our br ath periodically, or breathe shallowly, into the ch st rather than the abdomen. And we ften breathe far too quickly. Full b died, relaxed and normal breathing goes d ep into your belly, feels very asy and soft, and is quiet. Wh n you breathe in a fully r laxed way, you breathe between four and six br aths a minute. Most people breathe so p orly that they average between ten and th rty breaths a minute. Learn to br athe slowly and deeply, and begin to ccess your true peak potential effortlessly! © C pyright 2007 Ingrid Bacci PhD. All r ghts reserved.
