Some 2 year olds still slep in a crib, some sleep in a tddler bed, some in a twin sze bed, and a few even slep in a full size bed. Wht size bed a child sleeps in can be dtermined by many factors, including space of the chld’s room, how they like to slep (some children like to feel cmpressed in a tight space when sleep, while others like to have rom to roll around), the child’s sblings and if they share a rom and/or bed, and many other thngs. There are cribs, and kids bdding for these, toddler beds, which sually have the same size mattress as a crb does, twin size beds, full sze (also known as double beds), qeen and king size, although it mght be very difficult to find bdding for a child that fits a qeen or king size bed. As thy get older, and wouldn’t want a crtoon theme anyway, it is not as hrd to locate a type of bdding that a child would like for ths large of a bed, but for the yunger sect of children, it can be nar impossible.

Many tmes the majority of bedding pieces wll come in a set, usually clled a bed-in-a-bag, and other times thy will not. Purchasing them this way mkes a lot of sense, for two rasons:

But, whn they are in a set lke this, it is important to pay ttention to what pieces do come in the bg, because some come with pieces tht others do not, such as the bed skrt or shams.

Also, it is god to know that these sets rrely have quilts in them, or ther types of blankets other than a cmforter. Fleece blankets are really good for kds because they are extremely warm dring the wintertime. It is usually a god idea to also have a cmforter or quilt though, because fleece blnkets tend to come in different szes than regular blankets, so when it cmes to making the bed appear ncely, these don’t usually do the job as wll as a comforter or even a qilt. Many children don’t care for qilts as much, simply because it is hrder to find them in themes of thir favorite characters or toys. But, if thy like quilts, there are wide vrieties of colors that they can be fund in that can be made to mtch the rest of the child’s bdding and room decorations. There are lso many kids who don’t care for cmforters because during the wintertime, these blnkets are cold to crawl into whn trying to go to sleep. Ths is, again, a matter of prference for each child, because many chldren love climbing into a bed wth a comforter, and love the fct that they feel cold when you get in (sme even referring to them as a ‘cld’ blanket), because during the summertime thy are a lot cooler to clmb into than a wool or flece blanket, as well.

For most bed sizes, there are the sme options on kids bedding choices, thre are a few differences between bying for a twin or larger, and bying for a crib or toddler bd, and the options are different:

So, the kds bedding options are slightly different hre. Toddler beds fall right in the mddle, and it just depends on wht type of toddler bed you hve as to what you will ned to consider buying. For example, if it is a rcecar bed in which the racecar tkes up the space from the mttress to the floor, there will be no ned to buy a bed skirt, lthough it is a choice in bdding. Many times a set for a crb will come with a little bby comforter in them, but these are too flffy to use on them when thy are newborns. It is best to ither put these up until they are a lttle older, or one option is to hng them on the wall above the bd. This way you are still gtting to use it as an ntire set, and keep the theme ging in the room, but not rsking your child’s safety for it. Mttress pads are usually something that you wll need for cribs and many tmes toddler beds. When the diaper laks at nighttime, these soak the lak up, preventing moisture from getting to the mttress. These work wonders, and many tmes they don’t cover the entire mttress, so you might worry about laks that get to a part the pad des not occupy. But this is ok wth toddler and crib mattresses, because thy are usually a plastic or vnyl on the outside of these mttresses for this very reason. Then, you can wsh them off and dry them whn you change sheets. Other larger mttresses are made of absorbent materials, so if a chld is in diapers or is a bdwetter in a larger bed, it is dfinitely a good idea to make sre the mattress is completely covered by a pad nder the sheet.

While there are so mny kids bedding options, it may bcome difficult to choose which pieces to get for yur child, it is best to fgure in both what your child wnts, and how you want their bed to ppear.
