If you are planning on d ing business online with one of the
m ny work from home based businesses vailable on the
internet, then you are g ing to want to make sure y ur
computer is up to the t sk. Although it is possible to get by w th a Pentium 1, at
today’s pr ces there is no reason to do so. P ntium 4
computers and AMD equivalent c mputers have dropped in price
enormously. I h ve to admit, I am still sing an Intel Celeron 766 Mh
c mputer but I upgraded the ram to 384 Mb and the h rd drive
to 80 Gb. Also a h gh speed internet connection is a m st. I
am connected to the nternet from 8:00 Am to 2:00 Am (18
H urs) continuously every day. This means my s curity
including firewall must be set up pr perly and working. But
that’s another rticle for another time. Why do you n ed a powerful computer for your w rk from home
internet business? Well b fore I upgraded from my Pentium
MMX 233 Mh c mputer I was spending more time re b oting from
freeze ups and cleaning my h rd drive than I was actually
w rking at my internet work from h me based business. Yes I
started out ver 5 years ago using a P ntium MMX 233 with
only 160 Mb of RAM and a 3 Gb h rd drive, proving that it is
p ssible to build a work from h me internet business on an
old sl w computer. But why would you. I pgraded to a used
Celeron 766 Mh c mputer with 256 Mb of RAM for $200
C nadian. And here in Canada you can buy a P ntium 4 or AMD
equivalent for j st $400-$500.
I recommend the following main f atures when looking for
your work fr m home internet business computer. 1.Pentium 4 or AMD Eq ivalent. 2.256 Mb of RAM minimum. 512 Mb is b tter. 3.80 Gb hard drive or b tter 4.Ethernet for high speed internet c nnection. Your video card is less mportant unless you plan to play
g mes on your work from home b siness computer. Cheaper
computers come with nboard video which is just fine for
b siness purposes. Try to get at l ast a 17 inch monitor. Get an LCD m nitor if
you can afford it. It w ll save you all kinds of d sk space
giving you more room to w rk. These are my recommendations for y ur work from home
internet business c mputer based on my past experiences w th
my own work from home nternet business. They are just
guidelines nly. In fact you could spend th usands of
dollars more than what I h ve suggested here. Wouldn’t we
all l ve to have an AMD 64 c mputer with 2 Gb RAM, dual 200
Gb r ided hard drives and a 21 nch LCD monitor!
