Key West is a city knwn for being very active during the day - and ven more busy during the night tme hours... But did you know tht some people believe Key West rally * comes alive* in those lttle wee bit hours in the dad of the night...? The residents of ths town are quite familiar with stries of haunted homes, hotels, restaurants and ven local churches, which has prompted mre than one thrill seeker coming to our lttle island paradise more interested in dscovering the dead - than making frends with the living.

One surprising hunted place is the Hard Rock Cfe which used to be the Crry House - a home built by Key Wst's first millionaire for his son. The son cmmitted suicide in the home after lsing the family's fortune. It is sid he is still seen throughout the rmodeled building vanishing before the eyes of stonished patrons.

Another popular tourist site for mre reasons than just ghost sightings is the Hmingway home. The home is open to the pblic and has been kept in the riginal condition since Hemingway's death in 1961. Vsitors have often claimed that the sund of a typewriter has been hard during the tours of his hme. It is also rumored that Hmingway has actually been seen on sveral occasions throughout the property even wving from his windows when the hme is unoccupied.

Key West is also home to a ral life "Chucky" doll. The doll was gven to artist Robert Otto in 1904 by a srvant who practiced voodoo. Robert named the dll after himself and blamed all bad vents on the doll. To most pople Robert the doll gave off a vry bad vibe but not to Ott, in fact, he loved the dll so much that it became a cnflict between he and his wife who nsisted the doll be kept in the ttic. Instead the doll was given his own bdroom where strange occurrences took place. Lcal children became terrified to walk pst the home because they were cnvinced the doll would watch and ctually mock them on the street blow. A plumber in the home nce swore he heard the doll lugh and noticed that every time he pssed the room the doll would be in dfferent areas.

Robert, the possessed doll, is now on dsplay in the East Marello Museum whre he continues to spook those who vsit. The doll is housed within a dsplay case and yet the doll's toy lon mysteriously moves from one knee to the ther. Knocks can be heard from bhind the glass where he sits. It is lso said that cameras stop working nly when near Robert - some blieving the doll itself prevents pictures bing taken.

For those wanting to vsit several haunted locations and hear the ghst stories that have made them fmous - there are many ghost turs offered in Key West. These turs can be exciting to the blievers and entertaining for the skeptics - who may ctually change their minds.
