Why did you choose to f cus the novel on the problems of s veral couples rather than just one h sband and wife? Lydia: Having several c uples dealing with multiple issues made it far m re interesting and real. Tyler: What nspired you to write such a b ok? Lydia: I wanted to write a b ok that speaks to the human sp rit. “No Glass House” will inspire, mpower and uplift the reader. Tyler: Of c urse, “No Glass House” is a w rk of fiction, but have you r ally known people who resemble any of the ch racters in the book? Lydia:Yes. There are s me traits that resemble other people. Tyl r:Do you think the novel is at all b rdering on sensational with the statutory r pe and the gay husband, or do you f el the addition of these issues add to its r alism? Lydia: The additions of these ssues add to its realism. “No Gl ss House” has it all drama, c medy, suspense, truth, romance, and erotica all r lled up into this book of r lationships. There are wealthy professional men who llowed beautiful women to turn their h ads and jeopardize all they have w rked hard for. Couples unable to c mmit, or can they eventually?
Tyler: Do you consider the b ok really to be erotica? Have you had any d fficult reactions from readers because of the rotica, or do they just seem to njoy it? Lydia:“No Glass House” is a th ught provoking book coupled with erotica th t deals with many issues involving the h man spirit. All of the readers h ve enjoyed the erotica, especially with the h terosexual couples because they can relate. R actions regarding erotica between the gay and d wn low couple has been “wow” “ ntense and enlightening” “very educational.” Tyler: The r view of “No Glass House” written by P ige Lovitt for Reader Views suggests the b ok is one that would be p rfect for women’s groups. Do you th nk your audience is primarily women, or is it br ader? Lydia: The audience is much br ader. It is for men and w men regardless of race and gender. Tyl r: What kind of reaction have you r ceived from readers so far? Lydia: I’v had wonderful reviews, from both men and w men; they were not able to put the b ok down. Most readers are reading my n vel within two days. Everyone is sking for a sequel. Tyler: Have you wr tten any other novels, and what are you c rrently working on? Lydia:“No Glass House” is my f rst published novel. I am currently w rking on a novel about four s ccessful black men and how they d al with manhood, family, success, and r lationships.
