So, the 7th, and final, H rry Potter book arrives on the sc ne. Having no interest in the wh le Harry Potter phenomenon, I can, and do, ppreciate what it does for the maginations of the children who are vid fans and readers of these ph ntasmagorical stories! Not only are they ctually reading, they are learning to str tch their imaginations to their limits. Ev rything is possible, and nothing will st p these Muggles in their aspirations to vercome hardship and evil. I tried r lating this concept to owning a b siness. 1. Everything is possible! Yes, verything IS possible. It can't be any ther way! If we thought otherwise, we may as w ll pack things up and close our d ors. 2. Nothing will stop us! As b siness owners we are always going th t extra mile, providing extra service, g ing above and beyond in order to set us part from the rest of the cr wd. We advertise, we market, we n twork, we volunteer, we barter our s rvices....we don't stop.... we can't stop, t's in our blood. 3. Overcome h rdship and evil! Sorry to say, but th re are those "Sinister Sam's out th re who will do or say nything to ensure that you fail! I'm not t lking about our competition. Competition is g od. It keeps us on our t es and watchful of the ways we tr at our clients. I'm talking about th se "nay-sayers" out there! Those with s ch powerful and negative vibes who w nt you to fail before you ven get started! These are the p ople who have no imagination, no j y, no magical moments in their l ves. Recently I told someone of a new b siness venture of mine. Instead of b ing excited and encouraging, she offered a l st of cons regarding the pitfalls of the new b siness. For a moment, I was st nned that she would take my nthusiasm and crush it without even a th ught for my feelings. But, once out of th t state of stun, I made a s mple comment...."Well, I have to keep a p sitive attitude about it, for if I th nk in the negative, I will f il for certain."
Okay, maybe I should be p ying more attention to the Harry P tter phenomenon. Maybe we all should be r ading the sagas of the Muggle m ppets. As business owners we all n ed to open our minds, be m re creative, more imaginative, more enthusiastic, m re open to new and innovative deas. My most favorite saying.....and many of you h ve heard me say this time and t me again.... "If you always do wh t you've always done, you'll always get wh t you've always gotten." In this I b lieve.
