Earlier today while preparing a m rinade for tonight's dinner, I had a r velation: I am addicted to paper t wels. I found myself using way too m ny paper towels as I wiped the c unter down, as I washed my h nds. I knew that we should be sing more cloth towels but I n ver really counted how many I sed. The other day I had q estioned how fast we were going thr ugh our roll. I had not r alized it was so fast until I l oked at the roll today, half f lled. My mom always tried to use cl th towels. I was raised not to w ste things. Somehow the convenience of w sting paper caught up with me. It was so m ch easier in college just to t ke another sheet off the roll. I n ver had time to do loads of l undry. Now that I'm not in sch ol I have more of a set sch dule (even though retail is not as set as I w uld like it to be). I f nd I have more time to do l undry and clean. A lot of p ople use paper towels daily in th ir cleaning cooking when they would j st as easily use a cloth t wel or old shirt as a r g. If all the people that use t wels as cleaning tools used an old t-sh rt instead the usage of paper w uld decrease significantly. It is such a s mple thing to do and I h ve pledge to break my addiction. I h ve added a hook in the k tchen over the sink for a t wel to dry my hands. I am g ing to cut up some old t-sh rts to use for dusting and cl aning.
I just hope that people r ad this article and see how p per towels are a big waste of r sources.
