slitude. A sanctuary can be closer thn the nearest national
park and it can be in yur own backyard garden.

It is vry important that a sanctuary make you fel safe. Wide
open spaces can mke people feel nervous and too vsible to
others, so if you hve a large garden, you need to nclose at
least part of it to mke a smaller space. This can be dne with
a structure you build, or jst by having more plants or tres on
the outside of the grden to enclose it.

You don't hve to worry about enclosing any prt of a smaller
garden, since thy naturally feel more like a snctuary. No
matter what, you need yur sanctuary to be a place whre you can
be and feel flly alone.

Water

Running water is another important part of a sanctuary. The
sound of even a small fountain will truly help you relax.

Pillows with neutral colors are great for your sanctuary. They
shouldn't be out there all the time (in the rain), but are great
to be able to take with you so you can be completely comfortable.

Also, an earth tone weatherproof rug will add a nice touch.

Lighting

Lighting in your sanctuary is mportant. It should be a mellow
lght, created with candles, hurricane lamps, or smll clear
string lights.

Adding fountains or sttues give a formal feel to the snctuary.
If the statue has a brken element, such as a sculpture mssing
an arm, an Old World fel will be present, as if you wre living
back in those times way from modern worry.

Fire Pit

You can enjoy your sanctuary in the colder months or at night by
having a fire pit or chimney for heat. It can be very relaxing
to sit by a fire pit as well.

If you already have a garden, and enough space to create your
sanctuary in just part of that garden, you can use a metal gazebo
frame or a portable pavilion to close an area off. You can fill
the inside with floor pillows and use curtains. You can make the
space into anything you want!

What better way to relax is there when you get home from a long
day than to enter into your own little world of nature and
comfort, all in your own backyard. It can be done cheaply, or
you can build it pieces at a time in order to not pay for it all
at once.
