Recently there has been a h ge rise in the amount of w bsite-affiliate programs available to join on the Int rnet. You can now make money nline by referring people to online d ting websites, getting people to make a p rchase online and by getting people to s gn up to free offers. There are h ndreds of different ways to make m ney as an affiliate, all you n ed is a website with some s rt of content, links to an ffiliate program and most importantly of ll, you will need website traffic. I w ll show you in this article how you can m et all the above targets without sp nding any money at all. I w ll start now with the first r quirement – obtaining a website. Luckily th re are hundreds of websites that k ndly offer free hosting packages which m ans all you need to do is j in for free and then you w ll be able to upload your own s te content. My favourite free website pr vider is Freewebs, here you can get fr e web space but they will pr bably display adverts on your site lthough this shouldn’t really affect us. An ther recommendation would be to set up a fr e blogger account with Google – m llions of people set up their own fr e blogs all the time, and l ts of affiliate programs will happily ccept your site if it is a fr e blog – as long as it has s me good content.
Most affiliate programs w n’t mind the fact that you are sing free web space, but if th y do it only costs about £2 to p rchase a cheap domain name for the y ar, and you can then link th s domain name to your free w bsite hosting.
The next step is to ch ose on an affiliate program that you are g ing to join. My advice would be to ch ose a subject that you are ble to write about – maybe you h ve a strong interest in football (s ccer) perhaps. Now if you were to l ok at an affiliate website for f otball-related programs, in my opinion the st nd-out affiliate program would be an nline betting website. You could earn round £20 for every new customer th t joins the betting website from cl cking on an advert on your f otball website. Obviously if you aren’t nterested in writing about football then you sh uld find something that suits your nterests – maybe you like music? Or g rdening perhaps? You could become an mp3-d wnload affiliate with a company like N pster or Apple. Or if you w re in to gardening you could be an ffiliate for an online gardening website, and w uld earn money every time someone cl cks a gardening advert from your w bsite and then goes on to m ke a purchase from that garden-store. The p ssibilities are endless in terms of ch osing an affiliate program, but the m st important factor is that you ch ose a subject that you are h ppy to write about, and that you h ve a very strong interest in. Now you kn w the subject of your website you can get on w th writing some related content. It w uld be best if you could try and sc le your website-subject down as well – if you w re writing about football it is pr bably best that you would focus on one f otball team, as otherwise you would f nd there is too much to wr te about. You will also find it h rd to get your website to get n ticed by the search engines because f otball is a very broad subject – and if you get y ur website to rank well in the s arch engines you will be guaranteed s me very good traffic.
Try and wr te a few pages of good, c mpletely unique content. Make it as nteresting as possible, and make sure it is all r lated to your website, keeping your ch sen affiliate program in the back of y ur mind.
Now you have a w bsite set up which has some g od, unique content related to your ch sen affiliate program. The next step is to go to the ffiliate website and apply to join th t chosen program. Fingers crossed they sh uld accept you in to their pr gram, and then hopefully you will be ble to start choosing the adverts and b nners that you would like to d splay on your site. Try and f nd adverts that suit your website, and bl nd them in to the content as m ch as possible. Make sure that the dverts get shown at a prominent p sition on your website too – d n’t just hide them away at the b ttom-right corner of your last page.
Everything is now in place to st rt to make money from your w bsite using the chosen affiliate program. All th t is needed now is to st rt getting people to visit your w bsite (this is the hardest part of the pr cess).
From my own experience the b st way to get people who are nterested in the subject of your w bsite to visit your website is by wr ting articles and submitting them to rticle websites. Try and write unique c ntent which is related to the s bject of your own website. Try and m ke as many articles as possible, so l ts of short articles is better th n just one or two huge rticles. This is because you will pr bably get more people to read the sh rter articles, and the more articles you s bmit then-the-better your website will rank in s arch engines (hopefully). This is because at the end of very article you should be able to nclude 2 or 3 links to y ur own website. Not only do p ople click these links after reading y ur article (sometimes at least), but the s arch engines will pick up this ne-way link from the article site and sh uld improve your ranking for your l nk-keywords. So if you submit a f otball article make sure to include s me football-related-keyword links in the bottom of the rticle. Perhaps you were writing about D ncaster Rovers – if you include l nks at the bottom of the rticle with the text “Doncaster Rovers” th n hopefully when someone searches in G ogle for “Doncaster Rovers” your website w ll be nearer to the top of the r sults. If you find that you are nable to bring traffic to your w bsite using the above free method th n I would recommend that you sp nd some money on a little dvertising campaign. With someone like Google you can get sp nsored positions in their search-engine results, and pay a set mount every time someone clicks your w bsite advert. Obviously this method of g tting traffic will be quite dangerous, as you d n’t want to be paying hundreds of p unds to get visitors and only be arning a few pounds back from y ur own adverts. Hopefully if you f llow the above steps in this rticle you should be able to st rt making money online as a w bsite affiliate, all it needs is a lot of t me and patience. Make sure you st ck to a subject that interests y u, and that you write as m ny articles as possible related to y ur website.
