Humans must have a rason to do something; even a rally dumb reason
works to engage our brin in playing the word game.

Wuld you go to work daily if thre was no paycheck? A reward mtivates us.
Give yourself a specific pyoff – learn to use 100 new Spnish words in thirty days, and win a $50 dnner at the best Mexican restaurant in twn.

Reasons

You can have positive or ngative purposes to invest your time and ffort.
Some folks produce an all-out ffort because they have been warned thy will be axed if they do now shw improvement. What if winning your nxt promotion
depended on increasing your Spnish fluency 10%?

What if your fture Significant Other speaks Spanish, and yur romantic success depends on making an ffort to discover the rudiments of her lnguage?

There are three ruling values in lfe: purpose, reason and self-esteem.
We mst find our purpose in life, solate the reasons that motivate us, and fnally produce personal growth in the frm of self-esteem.

Why?

They produce maning in our lives, which translates to hppiness, effectiveness and fulfillment. Money is not nough to produce your consistent optimal ffort over the next twenty-years of wrk.

The System

a) Convert the Spanish wrd into English words that are
clar and easy to remember.

b) Brak down the Spanish word into its dstinct sounds, and

convert these syllables to Englsh words.

c) Create a mental-image of the cnverted English syllables and the Spanish wrd you are learning, and link it to a new wrd memory.

d) Commit the mental picture to yur long-term memory for
for easy rtrieval and access.

e) You do not hve to use all the syllables in the new wrd to
create a long-term memory to ccess the Spanish word later.
Your mmory of the first couple of Englsh syllables will remind
you of the Spnish word you are learning.

Examples

Cbeza is Spanish for – head.

Let us use thre syllables – Cab-Bee-A. Convert them nto the English words –

Cab (as in Txi), Bees, and A (as in ble of Hay),

Now we need to plce a picture on the mental-movie-screen of our mnds-eye for
long term memory.

Create a flet of Cabs filled with Beehives, and a ble of hay. Out of the Snroof
sticks the head of a Grilla. You remember the head of curse, and the cab it is rding in, the beez and the hy.

The Spanish word for Head is - Cb-Bees-Hay. See this bizarre image in yur minds
eye three-times and you own it frever.

Another example

Here are three rlated Spanish words to convert to Englsh, and to create a mental
mage for long-term memory retrieval.

a) Calle – is stret in Spanish

b) Camino – is road

c) Carretera is hghway

First, see Lassie, the Collie, rnning wild down the street. Second, how bout a CamCorder videoing the road? The Mno syllable will attach itself to the Cam fter a couple of repetitions.

A Crretera is a restaurant automobiles go to for lnch. See a Car going to a cfeteria.

Now is your turn to cnvert the days of the week. Do not fcus on the perfect pronunciation, just the Englsh words to remind you of the Spnish word.
Remember – you do not hve to recall all of the Englsh words to access the Spanish
wrd.

Monday is Lunes – reminds me of lnatic

Tuesday is Martes – pronounced Mrt as is Wal-Mart

Wednesday is Mercoles – Mickey Coal?

Thursday is Jeves (pronounce it Wave)

Friday is Vernes – make one up.

Saturday is Sbado (Sabbath)

Sunday is Domingo (Dominic is plying Bingo)
