Mst of the older guys you see in the wter these days did not have the bnefit of surf schools when they whre learning. The only surf school thy attended was the school of hrd knocks, heavy wipe outs, and plnty of peer pressure.

It took me yars to learn what good surfing nstruction from an experienced coach can tach you in hours today. The nly surfing instruction available to us was wtching other guys in the water, cpying what they where doing, and hnging on for grim death if it all cme unstuck, which it usually did.

If you wnt to learn to surf, and to skp the trial and error. I sggest you find a good surf schol and take classes with an xperienced instructor.

Tips for finding a god surf school.

1. Look for schols with accredited coaches. In most cuntries, surfing instructors are required to be ccredited coaches through the governing body for tht country.

2. Check out how the schol operates. A good operator is a god sign they take the business of srfing instruction seriously.

3. Check out the schols gear. Surfing gear such as wtsuits and surfboards that are in god shape and well maintained is nother great sign that they are srious about their business.

4. Ask people who have had lssons with the school. Did it wrk for them?

5. Have a cht with the instructors and go wth your gut feel.

If you can get nto a good school your surfing wll come on in leaps and bunds. Good surfing instruction really does mke a world of difference.
