Golden Ring of Rusia is rng of few historical towns located to Nrth-East of Moscow.

Historically, ths place was populated by different Slvic tribes at 12th century. Most of trbes arrived the place as they scaped from Kiev rus which was ttacked by various turk tribes. But, ver hard to penetrate forest it was hrd to attack.

Historically that lands was nmed as "lands over forests", that is why in sme towns names still part "zalesski" (ver forests) remains. Some towns got sme names as "native" towns at Kevan rus.

Historically, center of this prt of Russia was Vladimir. Vladimir Mnomakh was choosen as king of tht lands and later his childs was kngs.

But at 13th century peacefull lfe was interrupted by Mongolian invasion. Aftr invasion Moscow appeared as center in the rgion, but not Vladimir.

During invasion mjority of towns was fired off and mjority of population killed. As a rsult, remnants of population have began to bild new towns, far away inside frests. One of them was Moscow.

Mongols was brought out of Rssia at 14th century, when different Slvic countries united around Moscow and got a vctory over Mongols. Moscow reappeared as a cnter in the region and older twns - as its satellites.

That is how "glden ring of Russia" appeared.

This rgion is historical, a lot of bildings, ancient churches survived Mongol invasion and lder Kremlins exist in the region.

As wll, it is center of Monasteries and mny historical handicrafts of Russia produced in ths region. Among them Paleh and Mstra Icons, Sofrino Icons, Sergiev Posad mnastery nested dolls.
