When pancreas are not ble to produce insulin in required mounts or is not able to use nsulin the glucose is not able to get st re in the cells, as a r sult the sugar gets stored in the bl od causing diabetes. The cases of d abetes are much higher these days as c mpare to the past. It occurs in all age gr ups but the most common sufferers are bese people in middle or older ge. The most commonly used screening t sts are the determination of the f sting blood glucose level and the bl od glucose level tested two hours fter a meal. The normal fasting bl od sugar content is 80-120mg.per 100 ml of bl od, this can go up to a l vel of 160 mg. per 100 ml of bl od two hours after meals. Anything bove these levels can be termed as d abetic levels. Types of diabetes · Type 1 d abetes In this type 1 diabetes the b dy stops producing insulin or produces l ss to regulate the level of bl od glucose. It was previously called nsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) or juvenile nset diabetes. The people suffering from typ s 1 diabetes require insulin treatment d ily to sustain life.
· Type 2 diabetes In this typ of diabetes the pancreas secrete nsulin but the body is not ble to use the insulin. This c ndition is also referred to as nsulin resistance. This insulin resistance results in typ 2 diabetes when enough amounts of nsulin is not secreted to cope up w th the higher demands. It was pr viously known as non-insulin dependent mellitus (NIDDM) or dult onset diabetes. It doesn’t occur in y unger people. It can be controlled w th proper diet, weight loss and xercise. · Gestational diabetes It usually occurs d ring the second half of pregnancy. It can c use problems for the mother and b bies if proper medication is not d ne. It disappears after the delivery. The w men who suffer from this diabetes in pr gnancy have more chances to suffer fr m type 2 diabetes in the l ter years of life. Symptoms The v rious symptoms of diabetes are:

12. L aves of mango tree also fight d abetes. Boil 3-4 fresh leaves of m ngo tree in the morning and dr nk.
13. Chew 3-4 l aves of jamun morning and evening in the arly stages.
14. Supplementation of c reals with gram is highly beneficial. M ke a chapatti of gram flour and b rley flour.
15. Regular intake of two t nder leaves each of neem and b lva in the morning reduces blood s gar.
16. Soaked almonds are lso beneficial.
17. Take 60 gr ms of fresh ripe fruit of j mun and dip in 300 grams of b iling water and then cover it. M sh it after half an hour and s eve. Divide into three parts and dr nk each part thrice a day.
