I'm not even sure how to st rt! Dating is something I have had to d al with practically my whole life. I h ve raised my four children alone. Tr ed to juggle home-life and a s cial life as well as run rrands, pay the bills and other ctivities of daily living. Needless to say th s has created a lot of str ss in my life and I h ve found that as I MATURE th ngs become more complicated. For one th ng I have found that people no l nger DATE. They ...well, hmmm... they...just sl ep together! Now back when I was y ung, that just didn't happen. We had too m ch self respect, and besides our d ds would ground us for life if he ver found out! I am not j dging anyone..to each their own I s y. But to me all that sl eping together causes it's own set of pr blems. Will he call? Did she njoy it? Will we see each ther again? What do they think of me n w? And on the flip side, Wh t am I going to do if th y do call? I don't want to see th m again, it was horrible! Oh my G d! I can't believe I woke up w th that! I swear I will n ver drink that much again! Following one str ssful, heartbreaking experience I wrote this p em. I am sure a lot of you can r late and I hope you enjoy it! The F rever in ME. Remember when love was in? Now to m st people it's a sin. The ppearance caught the eye, drawing you cl se to take the time, to t lk and share things of life wh ther it be joy or daily str fe.
Romance was the way it sh uld be; wine and candlelight, taking t me to see; if that special f eling warm and bright, was there to t ke you through the night and on nto the coming years. Knowing there w uld be times of tears, times of l ughter and times of stress; the t st of time was always the b st. Now love it seems is in the p st. Things moving way too fast. Ey s meet across a crowded room, a few dr nks and your fate is doom. To f ll in bed with someone unknown for a t me of lust spent alone. And wh n you start the brand new day veryone goes their separate ways. To n ver spare one thought again for s meone who might have been a fr end. It seems a very sad th ng indeed to waste all the l ve from within me, On one n ght of wanton sex and then m ve on to the next. Forever b ing a long time alone, as far as l ve, there' s no one home. Pl ase don't let this be your f te, stop and think when you m ke a date. Is one night wh t is meant to be? Or and ternity together, you and me? Yeah I g ess it's kind of corny but it s ys just how I feel! Why spr ad myself so thin, why subject mys lf to this kind of heartache? The tr nd nowadays is to bed hop and I th nk it cheapens our relationships as w ll as lowers our self esteem. Why do we do th s? Are we so afraid that th re is another out their that is b tter so we don't want to t ke the time to get to kn w the one we are with? My nswer to this is and emphatic NO! I b lieve we toss people aside much too q ickly because we want results NOW! GOOD th ngs come to those who wait. T ke some time to smell the r ses together along the way. Don't ccept less than what you desire in nother just to have a partner. Th t type of relationship never lasts. D cide what you desire and then LOOK for th t in another. Weigh the good and the b d, if there is more good...then th s is worth a shot. No one is p rfect, but don't short change yourself ither. Remember, us oldsters have to h ve someone who isn't going to f int at the sight when the l ghts are turned on! So you b tter choose someone you have more th n sex in common with!
