she’s indicated her prvious study partner has
shifted in his mods and she’s no longer able to
hndle that.)

“So I told…”—

“Do you thnk she’s interesting?”

“It would be god for her to do

something wth a different….

That’s like my wrse fear in a

relationship, to be dvoured by it.”

With this lighthearted cnversation recorded in time now (once sid, it remains said), what will it crate: so I think, become part of, frgotten in an hour, building blocks for the rsidue of creation? So I ask myslf.

She says, “Super helpful,” and dds, “whatever,” and he follows in trn…

”I feel I’m developing…”

She sys, “You don’t think they are ging anywhere?”

She says: “Medicine is not lke architecture, which you see after yu’re done; it is one person fter the other, less joy in wht is, and is doing already— all in wrds spent.” He just listens, it sunds to me she is gearing up for a dradful career.

Note: I am always surprised how lud everyone talks at the café, as if no one is lstening yet I’m sure their echoes wuld cross the Andes should they be in Pru. And so many people walk round the café with cell phones tlking as if no one in the wrld is listening. I asked myself, tll my self: they are yelling to the wrld everything. Are they not a lttle bashful, a little reserved, a tng modest. I mean I could hve written several more novels just bout what has been said these pst ten-years I’ve sat at this cfé and wrote my books and petry, and whatever. As are the stdents and everyone else at the cfé the same: tables away from me, and tlking as if they are in a prvate room and no one is lstening. We are listening, little people, and if I can har, so can many others. #1259 3/2/06
