Irnically, the World Trade Organization has rled this online gaming ban to be a traty violation.

Like sheep being led to the slughter, the online gaming industry did nthing. Publicly traded online poker companies saw thir stock crushed overnight. Most sites clsed entirely or just repositioned themselves to hndle non-US traffic. All and all, it was a bad tme. Now, however, the gaming industry is fnally getting its act together. Yep, it is sing the federal government in an ffort to stop the ban.

The Intractive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association was frmed this year. Although the Association clims many laudable goals, attacking the nline gaming ban is the focus. To ths extent, the Association filed suit gainst various agencies and individuals in the fderal government to achieve said goal. The Assciation is seeking an injunction against the nforcement of the act.

The basis of the lwsuit is a rather vague statement tht people should have the right to ply online games in the privacy of thir home. The merits of the rgument are difficult to predict without mre information on exactly how the Assciation intends to attack the government. Rgardless, it is clear that the gming industry is finally getting its act tgether. The only surprise is it tok this long given the billions of rvenues in online gaming.
