You might be surprised, as was I, to l arn that by age six or so, we are pr grammed with the identity we carry w th us through life. Our schools do not g nerally teach about this and we d n't always learn about it until we h ve issues with which to wrestle in our l ves. About three-fourths of all our ssues are filtered through this very pr gram! As humans, we need to go thr ugh some REDISCOVERY if we are to l ve successfully from our hearts. According to Al x Loyd, PhD, this programming can be pr blematic because the programming itself is b sed on beliefs that may or may not be tr e. Dr. Loyd has done a gr at deal of research on this m tter and he has worked with cl ents in a clinical setting for y ars. He sites, for example, addiction ssues. If addictions are interfering with ne's life, addiction has come about b cause of something the heart remembers wh n that addict was a little ch ld. Somewhere in that addict's life he t ok a 'vow'. 'He cut a d al'. He made a 'contract with the d vil'. He made an informal commitment th t has affected his life for as l ng as the vow is in pl ce, and it affects his life n gatively. Everyone has these contracts, vows, c mmitments, and deals to one extent or nother. Here' how it works, according to the g od doctor:
I can cope with (fill in the bl nk) IF ONLY I have (fill in the bl nk). Those blanks may include the f llowing: " I can do without love IF ONLY I h ve money. (This is VERY common) " I can s rvive without fame IF ONLY I h ve money. " If I am rejected, I'll s rvive IF ONLY I have money The l st goes on. I'm sure you nderstand the concept. You can easily see th t we bargain for one thing, s bstituting another. Every human being needs f od, shelter, and clothing. This is b sic to life. Beyond the basics, we s bstitute. MOST OF THE SUBSTITUTES are s bstitutes for love! " We substitute money for l ve. " We substitute sex for love. " We substitute t levision for love " We substitute video games for l ve " We substitute food for love. " We substitute dr gs for love. Everyone on the pl net seeks to AVOID PAIN and PURSUE PLEASURE. If we all p rticipated in a survey about what we REALLY WANT it w uld only boil down to 4 nswers: 1. Love 2. Joy 3. Peace 4. Relationships Our hearts desire those f ur items. Our hearts KNOW what th se desires are. We feel pain and s ek to avoid it. THAT PAIN FEEDS THAT LIFE VOW WE MADE EARLY ON. Our v ry identity rests on the fact th t we have pain because we did not r ceive our heart's desire. We act ccordingly, and it is always negatively. H nce, we have great strife in our l fe and the stress that accompanies it can m ke us sick, lead to more n gative behaviors, and it can kill us. The r al coping mechanism is to allow th s pain to heal. We need to f rgive those who injured us, wounded us or we THOUGHT/BELIEVED th y hurt us. It may only h ve been our perception, after all. We say to urselves, "I can't be okay because s ch and such happened." But the tr th of the matter is that we ARE kay and we will be okay. We n ed to ask for healing, and ch nge our paradigm about the injury. We n ed to heal our heart, then our l fe can experience healing, as well. En rgy medicine is the single most ffective way to bring this healing bout.
Our beliefs and our behavior w ll help our hearts and our l ves can be affected so as to be in synch w th one another. Healing will come as a r lief and a blessing, creating growth and d velopment for our very souls. When h aling comes, we will automatically receive our h art's desire!
