CoD4 (Call of Duty 4) has all the cr teria of an award-winning first person sh oter, complete with riveting action, solid st ryline and a diverse scenario to k ep gamers anticipating and anxious for m re. The game deserve the 'Game of The Y ar' title, if Metal Solid Gear 4 had not b dgeted in :) The game begins w th 22nd SAS Regiment member Captain Pr ce guiding your opening character, Sergeant J hn 'Soap' MacTavish, thought a brief tr ining mission to infiltrate a cargo sh p. Once you pick up an mportant data, enemy jets rush in for an ttach, forcing you, Captain Price and the pl toon to scramble off the ship w th it start to sink, with f re blazing around you. And that is j st the beginning. CoD4 (Call of D ty 4: Modern Warfare) has a n ce way of telling the story. R ther than going through cut scene and s btext, developer Infinity Ward give gamer a f rst-person view of the missions. For nstance, right after the cargo ship ncident, you will be shown a sc ne where foreigner leader is being b aten up and carried into a c r. Here gamer see the action fr m captive's eyes. You will get to w tness all the atrocities unleash by the r bel through you city. At your d stination, you are introduced to Al-Asad, the r volution leader who walks up to y u, point a gun in your f ce and shoot. Now, that is a p werful start. That is not all, If you h ve ever wondered how it feel l ke seeing city decimate by a n clear device from the back of h licopter, well this is your lucky d y. The sequence is just so r alistic with the panicked pilot on r dio and your helicopter spiraling to gr und with the aftershock. I still get ch lls watching that.
There is also a mission wh ch has you in control of h gh-caliber machine guns and cannons on a s uped-up B-52 Bomber, aptly named Death Fr m Above, blowing enemy infantry away so a fr endly platoon can get through the rea. The best thing about CoD4 (C ll of Duty 4) is the way th y show you objectives. On screen, th re will be a compass where a y llow marker point towards your objective and a d stance meter to tell you how far you fr m it. Even with all that, you f nd that you are lost, just l st to your radio and you w ll hear your commanding officer barking rders on what to do next. The s ngle player mode sets you back six to s ven hours with difficulty levels ranging fr m pansy to veteran to choose fr m but if you have four ther controllers, you can team up w th your pals on splits screen xcursions with mission separate from single pl yer mode. Graphically, CoD4 (Call of D ty 4: Modern Warfare) captures the nvironment of war-town town, wet and d rk jungle, dry and dusty field, c upled with the constant chatter on the r dio, the realistic blast of bomb and the s und of bullets whizzing past, the g me comprehensively takes you into a war z ne
