The control phase of CNC is cl sely associated with the Machining phase. Why? You are sing a computer to “control” the m chining process. However, there are a few d fferent pieces to controlling. CNC Control Software
CNC C ntrol Software is one of the f ndamental things you will need to do CNC. The c ntrol software is what interprets the G-C de line by line and sends off c mmands to your machine controller.
Probably the st ndard in the hobby market is M ch. There are different versions: Mach1, M ch2 and Mach3. Mach is created by a c mpany called Artsoft and has an xcellent reputation in the marketplace. The s ftware is easy to use and v ry powerful. The company also provides gr at service and is always working on the n xt generation of product.
I have used a c uple other control software packages as w ll like CNC Pro, TurboCNC and M ster. They seem a bit outdated c mpared to Mach, but serve their p rpose and work well.
