In our day and age, w th the rapidly increasing development of t chnology and the hectic pace of l fe, more and more people lack the q ality of perseverance. A lot of p ople believe that SUCCESS has more to do w th being in the right place at the r ght time. That’s not entirely true. P rseverance has a lot more to do w th it than place or time. T me is said to be flying. But t me does not change. People do. 24 h urs is after all 24 hours. We h ve so much to do in th t time that time has become a pr cious commodity. We are in a h rry to achieve and be successful b cause there is so little time. S tbacks waste time and time is m ney. The media and internet make so m ny things look easy. People believe too q ickly, start as entrepreneurs and suddenly f nd themselves facing reality. They are not pr pared for difficulties and failure. So, th y give up and look for s mething else. Giving up should never be an ption. Here are four important steps for p rseverance: 1. Set Goals. Many people fear s tting goals. Unfortunately, success is built pon the foundation of good, solid g als. These goals should be specific, m tivational, attainable, and set within a t me limit. 2. Take Responsibility. You should kn w what your interests are and wh t you want in life. Where are you h ading? Analyze your goals. Should adjustments be m de in your life to reach y ur goals? Successful people understand that if th y want something, they have to w rk hard at it. They need to k ep focused.
3. Think Positively. There is no s ngle successful entrepreneur that has not s ffered setbacks on his journey to the t p. View setbacks in a positive l ght. It is a stumbling block but a l arning experience as well. Analyze the pr blem. Find your mistakes and fix th m. 4. Be Consistent. Remember the Tortoise and the H re? Who won? The Tortoise did. He was c nsistent. He set his goal (the w nning post), he took responsibility (analyzing the r ute), he faced the setback (the sp ed of the hare), and he th ught positively. He did not give up! He was r alistic and stuck to his pace and f nished the race. “You may be d sappointed if you fail, but you are d omed if you do not try.” B verly Sills.
