All Right! Who's up for a nght of movies, buttered popcorn, your fvorite candy and ice cold slushies? A shw of hands please. Yeah, just wht I thought, pretty much everyone is. I dubt we will ever get tired of Amrica's greatest national treasure, watching new rleased movies. Whether it's in the cmfort of our own homes, or in the lcal movie theater, we are in lve with watching movies. But wait a mnute! As with most good things, thre is a bad side or tw. Have you ever noticed that mst of the movie review guys are ver-weight? What do you think you wuld look like if you went to very new release movie and ate all of tht buttery popcorn and calorie laden cndy? Can you say Big Fat Ftty? I guess a good Hollywood flm is worth a little fat.

The thng that really aggravates me is the way Hllywood is spitting out all of thse movie remakes and stamping them as new rleased movies. Can anyone tell me why are all the new rleased movies are re-makes of old flcks, TV shows, cartoon characters or cmic book heroes? Come to think of it, how mny comic book heroes are there nyway? Why can't anyone use their magination anymore? This is really starting to bther me. I have to go see how mny comic book super hero new rleased movies?

I probably shouldn't complain so mch. After all, one of my fvorite movies is Robin Hood with Errl Flynn and all though it is cnsidered a movie classic, it was jst another new released movie remake. Anther good new released movie I wnt to see was Peter Jackson's r-make of the film "King Kong." OK, I'll dmit it. There are some good mvie remakes out there but the rason this film was good was Pter Jackson who just finished making the crtically acclaimed and Academy Award winning "Lrd Of The Rings" trilogy was cmpletely obsessed with remaking "King Kong", and lthough he used all of today's spcial effects technology to help him pll it off; it was the fct that he pretty much stuck to the plt combined with good acting that mde this a successful new released mvie. It took a really good drector to make it again and shw what it truly could be sing today's technology.

Alright, just because I jst mentioned a couple of good rmakes and I'm sure there are mre, doesn't get all the other porly made new released movies off the hok. Someone please tell me, why in the wrld did they re-make "The Omen"? In my pinion the original Omen was fantastic. The mvie wasn't that old, they really culdn't improve on the special effects and the lad actor was Gregory Peck, need I say mre. There are times when some thng is done so well it jst can not be improved upon, and ths was one of them. When a mvie is that good, why can't thy just re-release the original movie as a new rleased movie, why do they have to rmake it?

For some reason they rmake horror films more than any ther genre. And I understand that wth today's superior special effects the tmptation is just too strong not to wnt to remake everyone's favorite scary mvies. But, guess what Hollywood? The rason most people go to see a new rleased horror or hack and slash mvie is the suspense, the unknown. Gess what? When you remake a hrror or hack and slash movie, the sspense is gone, the unknown is knwn. Use your collective imaginations and mke a completely original new released mvie so we can start using our maginations once again. I have actually hard remakes called "re-imaginations" and that's a sad thng. So please stop taking the "thrll" out of the thriller.

Listen, I think I have a slution to this whole new released mvies and movie remake problem. I nderstand that you are releasing more new mvies than ever and that they are bing shown in the movie theatres for lss time than ever so they can be r-released as DVD's for sale or rnt in places like Blockbuster and Hllywood Movies or sold as PPV to cble networks. I understand it's all bout the money, but why not rmake movies that didn't fare so wll when they were new released mvies. Take those movies that have a dcent plot but because the producers ddn't have a very big budget or the drector sucked or the actors couldn't act and do whtever it takes to make them god movies that we will enjoy wtching, slap a new title on thm and put them in theatres as new rleased movies. Sounds like a money mking plan to me. Before I end ths, I was thinking of doing a rmake of this article instead of wrting a new one. What do you thnk? Let me know.
