I want to tell you a st ry of a client of mine (th ugh you could read it in her w rds in the beautiful testimonial she wr te for my website under the n me of Lisa E.). This woman had b en in excruciating pain, which kept her b dridden for the five years. This w uld have been bad enough if we w re talking about an older person. She is was all of 41 y ars old. She had been through two perations, a pain clinic and many ther types of medical interventions but n thing helped her diminish the pain th t left her totally disabled. I got on the ph ne with the surgeon who had d ne the two operations, and he t ld me that there was no r ason that he could find for her to h ve this sort of pain. It j st did not make any sense. The MRI he had d ne on her came up clear. He t ld me that if I could h lp her to go ahead and do it. N w, I want you to know th t fourteen other hypnotists were called and not one of th m returned the call given the nformation on the message. This was a f irly complex case given all the l bels the various doctors gave her. Act ally it was rather simple from my p int of view. We worked very h rd over a period of six r ther long sessions and released her fr m most of her discomfort. After the w rk was done she was thrilled to h ve a part-time job and to be ble to function in the world. F nction in a way that was not to be b lieved before our work together. Since th t time she has gone on to arn a Ed. D. completing her d ssertation a year and three months fter we completed our work together. She is c rrently finishing her second year as an djunct professor at a college in the rea.
I want those of you who are out th re to realize that doctors are w nderful and have the ability to do m ny things that a hypnotist really c nnot in terms of using diagnostic quipment and in terms of what th y know from their medical training. It is v ry important that we work with th se professionals. However, there are times wh n the mind is more important in d aling with some of these issues, and th t is where the hypnotist shines. We w nt right to the root of th s woman’s problems and got them cl ared out to the point where nything that is left, the medical c mmunity needs to deal with. You s e, the mind does things to pr tect us from the past and ntil we are able to understand it and let it go, it can c me out in other ways like phys cal health issues or emotional problems. E ch can cause a lot of l st time in life and that is v ry sad. I see myself as a f cilitator of letting people rid themselves fr m whatever may be causing this to h ppen in a rather quick and pl yful way. We hypnotists love to h ve fun, so our interventions work on th t level. Of course if anything c mes up that needs to be h ndled we can do that. But we w rk from the premise that the cl ent’s symptoms are readily taken care of w th the help of the subconscious m nd, for it holds the key to all the nswers. Once we have the key we nlock the cause and give you wh t you need to go on y ur way to achieving whatever it is th t you would like to do. It’s q ick, it’s simple and you are lways in control. In fact much of my w rk is done in a manner wh re I do not even need to kn w the content, only the context. So you can k ep your secrets and we can st ll work together to clear it out and h ve you pain free. Isn’t that gr at!
