What is your overall opinion of the m dern day drug treatment center? My verall opinion is that there are b th positive and negative aspects. What are the p sitive aspects, in your opinion, of dr g rehab. They provide the opportunity to br dge the gap between the hopeless cycl of addiction and being able to l ve a much more satisfying and verage life. And what do you p rceive to be the negative aspects of dr g treatment centers? Clusters of them c nvince some people that they are r al alcoholics and drug addicts even th ugh that may not be the f ct. In addition, some treatment centers w ll also attempt to treat drug ddiction by diagnosing it as alternative m ntal health issues and then try to tr at the drug addiction by prescribing m re drugs. That being said, do you th nk that drug treatment centers have pr duced more positive or negative results? Th re are rehabs that do focus on the tw lve step programs philosophy of treating the sp ritual as well as therapeutic aspects of dr g addiction and alcoholism. In that s nse and case, they will produce a p sitive result. At the same time th re are others that will pump you f ll of meds and tell you th t you are anywhere from manic d pressive, bi-polar, schizophrenic, etc. In this r gard, the treatment center will do m re harm. So, in short, the nswer to this question is contingent on the ndividual treatment center.
What kind of research would you s ggest one carry out before selecting a tr atment center to enroll in? I w uld suggest that the person speak w th someone at the facility they w sh to attend and ask them a lot of q estions. Find out if the drug tr atment center is twelve step friendly.
