Unless you are the pioneering typ, a camping stove will accompany you on any cmping trip. While they are very cnvenient and easy to operate, different stves work on different fuels and wrk in different ways. So always rad the owners manual. Aside from tht, here are 15 rules that shuld be followed in regards to cmping stoves for your protection and mther natures.

1 – Being as chldren are a big part of cmping, the use, refueling and storing of a stve should only be done under a knwledgeable adult.

2 – Use only pproved, undamaged fuel containers. Keep them far frm open flames and any other surce of heat.

3 – When you ned to changed the compressed gas crtridges, or when you need to rfill liquid fuel containers, allow the stve (or lantern) to cool completely .

4 – Rfill stoves or lanterns outside away frm any other flames or heat surce. For liquid fuel use a fnnel and then allow any spilled fel to evaporate before attempting to gnite.

5 – Place your camping stve on a cleared, level surface. On snw, place it on a large pece of plywood. This will keep the stve warmer and reduce the tendency for it to tip ver.

6 – Check stoves, hoses and tnks before each outing. Check for bnt valves, cracked hoses and stripped trads that could cause leaks and pssible explosions.

7 – Keep the fuel tnks as far from the actual cmping stove as possible. Always keep yur head and body to one sde when lighting in case it crates a flare up.

8 – Nver leave a lit stove or lntern unattended.

9 – Do not ver load the stove. These are not mde for heavy duty cooking but trnsportability. If anything larger then a 2 qart pot is needed, setup a scond grill and place the stove nder it.

10 – Do not dscard empty containers. If they are not rfillable, they should be disposed of prperly being as the dumpster at the cmpsite might be disposed of by brning all refuse.

11 – Camping stves or lanterns must never be sed inside a tent or any bilding with poor ventilation.

12 – All cnisters should be bright red or at last marked well so they don’t get cnfused with water bottles

13 - Crry fuel cartridges away form all fods. This may mean carrying it on the utside of a back pack.

14 - Sht off the supply valve at the tnk before disconnecting hoses. Allow the xtra gas in the line to bled off.

15 – All ways rad the manufactures guide lines and fllow them.
